Sr. Data Architect

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to hire a Sr Data Architect. The main function of the Sr Data Architect is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. You will be supporting multiple business lines in building proactive practices around defining the data architecture.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degrees preferred

10+ years’ experience required

Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages

Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on software engineering design, development, frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients.

Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations

Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments

5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Architecture and/or Data Warehousing; preferably in on AWS technology stack or shared enterprise data environment

Experience with data quality, data security, data analytics

5+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL/ data ingestion protocols).

5+ years of experience in ETL Development/Architecture and ETL Tools

3+ Experience in architecting data processing applications in cloud hosted infrastructures and cloud services (such as AWS, Azure etc.)

Experience with migration of on-prem databases to AWS Postgres, Snap Logic, Aurora DB or Snowflake DB, Glue etc.

Experience with database performance tuning, memory optimization, partitioning etc.

Deep experience in logical, physical and semantic data modeling of structured and unstructured data

Exposure to Mainframe is a plus

CRM experience such as Adobe or Salesforce is helpful

Experience with multiple SDLC methodologies – Waterfall and Agile

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.

Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces.

Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization, planning and develops appropriate corrective action

Provides daily supervision and direction to staff

Identifying installation solutions for new databases

Publishing and/or presenting design reports
