Job Description

Position Description:

Architect, design, code, and implement next-generation web application using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies:

Spring Framework (Boot, Cloud, Security, Data).

DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, SonarQube, UrbanCode).

Provide software expertise in one or more of these areas: Java application integration, Java enterprise services, service-oriented architectures (SOA), security, business process management/business rules processing, user experience (UX) and accessibility (Section 508/WCAG/USDS Web Standards).

Investigate and repair application defects regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling).

Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience

All other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements/Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 6+ years of experience in a training-related field or bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in a training-related field.

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.

7+ years of experience with Java systems/application analysis and design.

4+ years of combined experience SOA/Microservice architecture/RESTful web service, API.

2+ years of combined experience with zOS connect and CICS transformations.

Required Skills:

Excellent experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, and Data).

Excellent knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming.

Strong knowledge of Cloud/AWS hosted REST API's.

Solid experience with zOS Connect.

Understanding of CICS and CICS transformations.

Basic knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, and Oracle), SQL, IDMS, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, and Spring JDBC).

Solid experience with automated unit testing, TDD, BDD, and associated technologies (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium, and Karma/Jasmine).

Solid knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, Modern Javascript, JQuery, and CSS).

Desired Skills:

Delivery (CI/CD) best practices and use of DevOps to accelerate quality releases to Production.

PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes and Docker containers.

Business and technical knowledge of the client Title 2 processes.

Education/Work Experience

Master's degree and 6+ years of experience in a training-related field or bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in a training-related field.
