IT Applications Project Manager

The IT Applications Project Manager will support several projects associated with changes to its existing & new applications.

Job description:

Execution of Migrations

Maintain final cost and schedule for Baseline Commitment

Weekly status to be rolled up to the Program Manager

Prepare an execution plan/schedule for PI planning and manage the plan

Identify & manage cross team dependencies that will established in the PI planning or per team meetings

Conduct a minimum of a weekly working meeting with the team

Mitigate roadblocks and escalate to the IT Project Manager as needed

The following activities must have:

Establishes and sustains strong relationships with business partners and across IT

Manages the overall performance and delivery of medium to large cross-functional programs and projects

Understands key value drivers to ensure business partner and IT decisions are in the best interest of company goals

Directs and coaches teams in entrepreneurial project management competencies including stakeholder partnership, leadership, judgment, scope management, and risk management while ensuring adherence to project governance and methodologies, and accurate financial management

Leads and directs work of others who may or may not directly report to the position but whose input and cooperation are critical to the success of assigned projects or programs

Responsible for customer satisfaction, leadership, overall performance, schedule, and cost of large programs, or a portfolio of projects throughout entire program life cycle

Establishes and implements plans that achieve overall current and long term objectives of the business and meet program schedules

Implements roll up review to status work in process, monitor leading indicators, and develop work-around options within the given trade-space of programs/portfolios

Responsible for the total life-cycle of programs and sets program baselines

Matches technical approaches to appropriate schedule methods

Identifies scope changes and develops program positions for equitable cost and schedule adjustments

Uses incremental development and other strategies to develop an Agile program in order to support early risk mitigation

Initiates efforts to correct departmental, division, or group wide issues that impact the business performance

Develops strong cross-functional teams and a working environment that fosters professional growth for team members as well as good relationships with internal customers and suppliers

Defines communications plans and maintain excellent overall communications across the organization throughout the project

Balances program plans, risks, and opportunities with executable strategies to meet technical requirements and budgets

Reports and communicates project status to executives and other project stakeholders

Conducts reviews to drill down into issues on programs, identify risks, develop corrective actions, and communicate issues, impacts and corrective actions to program team

Maintains awareness of cross applications/project synergies and actively communicate opportunities to simplify or better align work across teams

Follows established processes for project governance and management preparation including Proposals, Baselines, and Project Reviews

Required Experience:

Proven ability to motivate teams to deliver large cross functional programs and projects in a very dynamic, fast-paced, and matrix enterprise environment

Demonstrated entrepreneurial project management skills: stakeholder partnership, leadership, judgment, scope management, and risk management

Demonstrated knowledge of work estimating, allocation, scheduling, and progress measurement

Ability to recognize overall strategic and tactical objectives and set interim and overarching goals to achieve them

Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels

Strong people development and coaching skills

Extensive knowledge and experience with project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid) and processes and project financial management, solid understanding of business analysis and systems development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement

Demonstrated understanding of value proposition and ability to tailor plans to optimize success for stakeholders

Ability to influence customer’s expectations and develop win-win outcomes

Ability to apply advanced negotiation skills to solve internal, external and customer issues

Ability to forecast program performance and plan accordingly with resources as required

Ability to analyze program financial data and offer solutions to maximize all positive financial effects

Proven success with multiple concurrent workstreams/project under a larger program umbrella structure

Demonstrated knowledge of advanced concepts such as critical path management, project escalation, management reserve, financial projections vs run rate actuals

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years applications project experience

Knowledge of cloud-based technology and migrations

Demonstrated success with multiple concurrent projects in a highly matrixed environment

Agile/Scrum and blended agile-waterfall experience

Tools: Jira, Confluence, MS Project, MS Powerpoint, MS Sharepoint
