Azure Migration Project Manager

This Azure Migration Project Manager will have experience in major application migrations from on-premises datacenter to AZURE. 

Must have supported various projects associated with migration of its applications to new platforms, mostly cloud-based (SaaS or in an -administered virtual data center in the Microsoft Azure cloud).

The projects may include:

Migration of complex Engineering apps from on-premises to the Azure virtual data center

Migration of a legacy CRM system from one on-prem data center to another

Refactoring a workflow system from on-prem virtual servers to Azure-hosted containers.

Migration of a COTS/customized employee time reporting system from an on-prem installation to a different platform – could be an on-prem migration,

migration to the Azure virtual data center, or to one of several vendor SaaS replacements

Job Duties:

Achieving agreed-to scope within the baselined cost and schedule

Identifying resource requirements

Surfacing and resolving roadblocks, seeking assistance/escalation in a timely manner

Tracking/resolving issues and risks

Preparing monthly project reports and weekly status updates

Establishes and sustains strong relationships with key stakeholders

Leading and directing work of others who do not directly report to the position but whose input and cooperation are critical to project success

Identifying scope changes and proposed responses for management review

Flexibility in using Agile (Kanban and Scrum) and traditional project management methods to plan work and track progress.

Defining and executing communications plans.

Following established processes for project governance and management preparation

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years project management experience (migrating, upgrading, refactoring applications preferred)

Experience with closing or relocating data centers

Experience with application development and testing life cycles, including preparation for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other audits

Knowledge of cloud-based technology (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

Demonstrated success with multiple concurrent projects in a highly matrixed environment

Agile/Scrum and blended agile-waterfall experience preferred
